Without any surprise, the Delhi people woke up on Monday morning to see the city envelop in smog with an alarming air quality filled with toxic gases and pollutants.

A lot of people posted photographs on social media from their mobile phones complaining ‘zero visibility’ at various places while commuting to office. They said that the smoke of the fire crackers and burning can still be felt in the smog and it was difficult to breathe in that air.

At 7:00am, Monday morning, the air quality index from various sources showed an alarming figure ranging from severe 450-500. The pollution level between 410-500 is classified as severe and refer the air quality as unbreathable. At some places in south Delhi, the index read above 490 and even 500 in west Delhi.
